Developing an Ambitious Curriculum in EYFS

November 5, 2019 @ 9:15 am - 4:00 pm

With the Ofsted emphasis on The Curriculum in mind, this course will explore how we define the curriculum and what we want children to know, do and experience, in our settings. We will consider the uniqueness of the children and communities we serve and look at ways to plan for and provide cumulatively rich experiences for children as they grow and develop with us.

During the session participants will have opportunities to:

  • Explore the idea of curriculum and how to make this ambitious, exciting, creative and meaningful for children in EYFS
  • Consider ways of responding to the unique child and capitalising on everything they bring to their learning
  • Consider what core experiences we want children to have and how this links with sound early years pedagogy
  • Be supported to plan, design and implement an ambitious EYFS curriculum that balances adult/child led learning opportunities
