New to EYFS (For Nursery)

This is a three-part course. You must attend all three sessions.

This three-part course will support you to embed the Early Years Foundation Stage in your setting whilst ensuring that children and families are at the heart of good practice. You will need to attend all three sessions as they are linked. Please ensure that you sign up for the relevant session focused on either Reception (4-5 yrs) or Early Years Setting (0-4yrs)

Part 1- Principles of EYFS (Monday 8th November, 4:00pm – 6:00pm)
We will explore the four themes of EYFS, Characteristics of Effective Learning, Prime areas and will make reference to the new early learning goals and reformed educational programmes in the EYFS

Part 2- Observation, Assessment, and Planning (Monday 15th November, 4:00pm – 6:00pm)
We will consider the principles of effective observational assessment and how this supports planning that supports all children to be motivated lifelong learners.

Part 3- The Role of the Adult and an Enabling Environment (Monday 22nd November, 4:00pm – 6:00pm)
We will understand more about the key person approach, the importance of relationship-based practice and consider how to develop an effective learning environment.

St. Pauls Children’s Centre: There is no on-site parking but parking is available on the road for £1 an hour for a maximum of 3 hours, or in Cabot Circus which is 5-minute walk from the St. Pauls Children’s Centre.
